This elegant Empire period marble top console table dates from about 1835. The gracefully curved base is matched flame grain crotched mahogany with an excellent finish and only minor mars. Polished and shaped, the marble top is very fine and has a delicate "ogee" edge. This American east coast furniture is grand and imposing.
